Improve Security Easily

Multi-Factor Authentication

Password access to a website doesn’t offer a strong enough identity check.  Anyone who gets a hold of your password can simply waltz into an account and take what they need. In addition, the security of the account is based solely on the strength of the password, which, as we all know, is usually not strong enough.

To help you secure access to online resources, we recommend implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) access.

Multi-factor authentication is one of the most effective controls you can implement to prevent an adversary from gaining access to sensitive information and can be easily implemented for most websites.

Multi-factor authentication is the process of identifying an online user by validating two or more claims presented by the user, each from a different category of factors.

The three basic elements that can be used in MFA are:

  1. Something the user knows, like a password or pin number;
  2. Something the user has, like a mobile device; and
  3. Something the user is, like a fingerprint, optics or voice.

MFA is already available on most of your common applications, like Office 365 / Email, Dropbox, Google Drive etc.

If your organisation would like my help to implement MFA or would like some advice about MFA or online security, please shoot me an email.
